Hey, what are you guys doing next year?
I don’t know about you guys but my family is planning on leaving the country. We just found out that our neighbors to the north are making entry into the all of the national parks and historic sites FREE in 2017 as a way to celebrate their 150th Anniversary! We’ve been to Canada before.
We drove up and stayed in a ski resort built into the side of a Mountain in Whistler, but never really thought about camping up there. Now, we actually have an excuse to go back up and check out all that they have to offer.
“We think it’s fantastic that everyone can get into the parks for free next year to celebrate our 150th birthday,” said Crosbie Cotton, director of the National Parks Ski Area Association. “It will make a trip to the mountains much more affordable for many people and will be a tremendous opportunity to celebrate the magic of Banff, Lake Louise and Jasper national parks.”
I am looking forward to seeing Yoho’s waterfalls and Kootenay’s ice covered peaks (I guess that depends on the time of year) but I especially want to see Banff National park. I’ve heard a lot about it over the years, it’s a big park covering over 2500 Square miles and I hear there is more to see there than just the hot springs.
