Free camping and free music, what could be better than that?
I know! How about three days of free camping and music? Get ready, Play The Gap is a three day extravaganza with country and bluegrass music, community dancing and it even a fiddle contest!
The free event is being held May 20 – 22, 2016 outside the museum grounds located at 4508 Main Street, Union Gap, Washington 98903.
There will be dry camping available. However, the number is limited. Pre-registration is recommended or you run the risk of the campgrounds being full when you arrive.
This event is being put on by volunteers and is a non profit function that guarantees a fun time for all. This will be a carnival like atmosphere with informal jamming all weekend where you will have the opportunity to join a band and dance or you can show off your fiddle skills in the fiddle contest (there is a fee to join the fiddle contest). There will be food available for purchase from vendors. There will also be dutch oven cooking demonstrations and a vintage trailer rally.
Like I said, a good time to be had by all…for free!! How often does that happen these days? So what are your plans for May? If you’re going to be anywhere near the Yakima, Washington area on May 20 – 22 stop on by. 🙂
